Girl on chair making music on Soundtrap

Summer's here, and it's time to crank up the creativity! Whether you're soaking up the sun and taking a break from creating or hiding out in the studio during the next few months, we at Soundtrap will be hard at work, bringing you some exciting updates for your music-making and podcasting adventures.

That's right! This summer, we're adding new features, effects, and tools to make Soundtrap even more powerful, while staying true to our commitment to simplicity. Here's a peek at what's brewing at the Soundtrap lab at the moment:

Chords

You may remember that we released the first version of Chords, our chord progression generator, earlier this year. Well, we’re far from done. We are now rolling out an improved version of this popular instrument.

The new iteration of Chords has more intuitive visuals, easier playability, and new and improved mobile implementation. Enjoy creating your next smash with this helpful tool.

Bitcrusher

We’ve listened to you, and now it’s time to deliver. The Bitcrusher is on its way to the effect panel.

The Bitcrusher effect reduces the quality of your sound and distorts it. Imagine taking a crystal-clear image and turning it into a pixelated version. That's kind of what a Bitcrusher does to your audio.

This new distortion effect will help you create chill Lo-Fi beats, crazy Dubstep bangers, Chiptune songs, and much more. Be on the lookout for this effect making its way to the studio this summer.

Noise Gate

A noise gate acts like an audio security guard. It keeps low background noises (background hum, hiss, room noise) out of your recordings and only lets through the louder sounds that you actually want on your track.

This keeps your audio clean and reduces unwanted noise in your recordings. It’s perfect for vocals, where noise can be filtered out while the voice is the only thing making it onto the song.

Stay tuned for the Noise Gate effect coming to the studio shortly.
